The semifinals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League are set following the completion of the quarterfinal second legs. Arsenal LFC (England) will face VfL Wolfsburg (Germany), while two-time defending title holders Olympique Lyonnais face FCF Juvisy Essonne in an all-French semifinal.
The first legs of the semifinals take place on April 13 or 14 and the second legs will be held on April 20 or 21. The final is May 23 at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge in London.
Lyon beat Malmö (Sweden) 3-0 on Thursday to cruise to an 8-0 aggregate victory in the quarterfinals. American Megan Rapinoe scored the title holders’ second goal on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Juvisy beat Göteborg (Sweden) 3-1 to advance 4-1 on aggregate. US midfielder Yael Averbuch scored the lone goal for Göteborg.
Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Torres (Italy) on Wednesday gave the Gunners a 4-1 aggregate victory, while Wolfsburg won 2-0 in Moscow on Wednesday to advance past Rossiyanka 4-1 on aggregate.
