In her first league game since officially joining French team Paris Saint-Germain a little over a week ago, American midfielder Tobin Heath scored the team’s second goal in a 4-1 win. Fellow American Lindsey Horan scored twice in the same game, away to Arras.
According to the match report on the PSG site, Heath started on the right side of midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Horan as the lone striker. PSG trails women’s soccer powerhouse Lyon by three points in the Division 1 Féminine.
The two teams at the top of the French table will meet on March 2. Megan Rapinoe plays for Lyon.
Heath and Rapinoe are now scheduled to report to the U.S. women’s national team camp in Jacksonville, Fla. The United States takes on Scotland on Feb. 9 and 13 in new head coach Tom Sermanni’s first event with the team.
After her stint with PSG is over in early summer, Heath will play for Portland Thorns FC in the inaugural National Women’s Soccer League season. Rapinoe will head just north of her to play for Seattle Reign FC.
Heath made waves when she signed a short-term deal with PSG that will keep her away from the NWSL until June.
