UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinals set

The quarterfinalists are set in the UEFA Women’s Champions League following Thursday’s results. Russian club Rossiyanka drew 2-2 with Sparta Praha to advance 3-2 on aggregate. Torres beat Olimpia Cluj 3-0 to cruise to a 7-1 aggregate victory and Sandrine Soubeyrand’s 69th minute winner lifted Juvisy to a 2-1 victory over Stabæk FK after a scoreless draw in the first leg.

Rossiyanka (Russia), Torres (Italy) and Juvisy (France) join the five teams which advanced yesterday: Arsenal (England), Göteborg (Sweden), Malmö (Sweden), Lyon (France) and Wolfsburg (Germany).

UEFA announced on Tuesday that Stamford Bridge in London — home of Chelsea FC — will serve as the competition’s final on May 23, 2013, two days before the men’s Champions League final across town at Wembley Stadium.
