He’s baaaaaack. Well, perhaps he never really left, from what we are finding out. ESPN The Magazine’s “The Franchise Issue” (each issue is a theme) hit homes on Wednesday talking about best, worst and just different franchises. It looks like football, football and some more football at first glance.
But flip to page 78 and you’ll find a seven page spread (!) on former WPS team magicJack and its infamous owner, Dan Borislow.
The piece, written by Shaun Assael and Peter Keating with reporting from Lizzie Haldane, is worthy of ‘must-read’ status and worth the newsstand price. There is some seriously great reporting in there. I’ll update this later with a bit more, but it talks about a few key U.S. players still being in Borislow’s corner, along with Borislow’s still very much alive ambitions for professional women’s soccer.
ESPN The Magazine went with “MAGICTRICK” as the headline, though the old favorite, “TragicJack,” may have worked, too.
