The U.S. women’s national team defeated Sweden 3-1 on Saturday in the Volvo Winners Cup in Halmstad, Sweden.
Abby Wambach opened the scoring for the U.S. in the 8th minute with a wonder goal from 30 yards out and Alex Morgan doubled the lead in the 22nd minute.
Sweden’s Lotta Schelin cut that in half in the 35th minute, but second half substitute Tobin Heath capped off the scoring in the 54th minute to give the U.S. a 3-1 victory.
