Canada and France will face-off in Tuesday’s Cyprus Cup final after they both completed perfect group stages on Sunday. France defeated England handily, 3-0, while Canada topped the Netherlands 1-0 earlier in the day.
Defender Emily Zurrer scored in the 84th minute to give Canada the late victory over the Dutch and advance her squad to Tuesday’s first place match, in which Canada will look to clinch its third-straight Cyprus Cup title.
Canada will do so against a France squad that embarrassed the Canadians in the World Cup, winning 4-0 in the group stage en route to a fourth place finish. Canada finished dead last of the 16 teams.
On Sunday,Louisa Necib opened the scoring for France on a beautiful volley in the 11th minute and Marie-Laure Delie and Gaetane Thiney added second half goals to easily beat England on the final day of group play. Check out video of Necib’s great strike:

In CONCACAF U-20 Women’s Championship action, the U.S cruised to a 6-0 victory over Cuba and Panama beat Guatemala 3-1.
Monday brings the final day of group play in the Algarve Cup. Germany plays Sweden and the winner advances to Wednesday’s first place game, where they will play the winner of Monday’s USA-Japan game.
