Japan has reached an all-time high in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, climbing one spot to No. 4. Also climbing the rankings considerably is Canada, which jumped up three spot to No. 6. The top three remains unchanged, with the USA at No. 1, followed by Germany and Brazil, respectively.
Canada’s big jump comes after a highly successful six months in which the team was crowned champions of CONCACAF, the Brazilian Four Nations Tournament and, earlier in the month, the Cyprus Cup.
Argentina suffered the biggest drop in the top 50, falling five spots to No. 33. Argentina failed to qualify for the 2011 Women’s World Cup after participating in the last two editions of the tournament in 2003 and 2007. Check out the full rankings here.
