It’s the calm before the storm in Women’s Professional Soccer, as preseason has just begun. Thankfully, the international game is full of results thanks to the Cyprus and Algarve Cups. On this edition of the Equalizer Women’s Soccer Podcast, myself and Jeff Kassouf talk about Canada’s win in a Cyprus Cup tournament that seemed to be much stronger than last year’s. We also talk about the U.S. Women winning in Portugal as well as the interesting match-up for third place.
But the bulk of this show is devoted to the implications of the U.S. Women’s National Team’s plan to have players in their pool train with the national team during the week, returning players to their clubs for weekend matches during the first part of the season. Is this a good approach? How will it effect the WPS season?
