Santa Clarita Blue Heat add international experience, more on Puma

The USL W-League’s Santa Clarita Blue Heat have added Portugal captain Edite Fernandes to its 2011 roster.  Fernandes has 14 years of international experience and has been capped 81 times by Portugal.

“When I took over the club a year ago, my goal was to bring quality to the league,” Blue Heat Owner and President Carlos Marroquin said. “My goal is to have three or four good players similar to Edite playing for the side this season.”

Fernandes has played club soccer in Portugal, China, England and Spain.  She was most recently a member of Atletico Madrid.
