Flash return Parker, Davison for 2011

The Western New York Flash announced on Monday the signing of midfielders Kelly Parker and Gemma Davison.  Both players were part of the Buffalo Flash squad that won the 2010 USL W-League Championship.

Parker, who was named the 2010 W-League MVP, returns to the Flash after spending the final weeks of the 2010 WPS season with Sky Blue FC, the team she played for in 2009.  The Canadian international registered 11 goals and five assists in just seven W-League games last year.

“Kelly was a big part of our W-League Championship last season,” Flash Head Coach Aaran Lines said.  “She has a good understanding of the game and makes dangerous runs from the midfield.  Her experience on and off the field is invaluable for our club.”

The 23-year-old Davison played just five games with Flash in 2010 but proved influential in the final, scoring a goal in Buffalo’s 3-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.  She is currently a member of the English U-23 Women’s National Team.

The Western New York Flash now has the maximum number of six allowed internationals on its roster (Parker, Davison, Marta, Christine Sinclair, Candace Chapman and Caroline Seger).
