Washington set to sign Claudia Martínez

The Washington Spirit are poised to sign Paraguay teenager Claudia Martínez, according to Jeff Kassouf of ESPN. She will be the first-ever Paraguayan player in the National Women's Soccer League. Martínez, who just turned 18, has seven goals in six appearances for Paraguay, and is joining from Club Olimpia for a reported transfer fee of $950,000. According to ESPN, the deal includes a "sell-on fee due to Olimpia for any future transfer."

Reign to play first three 2026 home matches in Spokane

Seattle Reign FC announced that select home matches during the 2026 NWSL regular season will be played at ONE Spokane Stadium in Spokane, Washington. Sources tell The Equalizer the first three home games will be played in Spokane. The Reign's usual home stadium, Lumen Field, will be "undergoing preparations to host the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup."

Emma Regan leaves AFC Toronto for the NWSL

Emma Regan is heading to the NWSL. The Canadian international was the captain of AFC Toronto of the Northern Super League during the league’s inaugural 2025 season. She played every minute during the team’s Shield-winning campaign, and was named the NSL Midfielder of the Year. It is not yet clear what NWSL team has acquired the 25-year-old.
