| Riley probable for Saturday after injuring left hip pointer |
FC Gold Pride defender Ali Riley is probable for Saturday's home game against the Chicago Red Stars after injuring her left hip pointer in Sunday's 0-0 draw with the Atlanta Beat. Riley was in visible pain Sunday after colliding with Atlanta forward Monica Ocampo in the 74th minute and had to be replaced by Kristen Graczyk in the 77th minute. Riley has been held out of training at the beginning of this week and has been receiving treatment. She is expected to rejoin team training Thursday or Friday and is likely to be cleared for Saturday, according to FC Gold Pride spokeswoman Crystal Fukumoto. FC Gold Pride (12-3-2, 38 pts.) is unbeaten in its last six games and boasts an 11 point lead on second place Philadelphia heading into Wednesday's matches. |
