FC Gold Pride to play at CSU-East Bay |

FC Gold Pride will play the majority of its 2010 home games at Pioneer Stadium on the campus of California State University-East Bay, The Equalizer has learned.The move comes after the team spent its inaugural season sharing Buck Shaw Stadium with the San Jose Earthquakes.CSU-East Bay is located in Hayward, Calif., over 25 miles north of downtown San Jose.Due to renovations taking place at Pioneer Stadium, the first few home games for FC Gold Pride will be played at Castro Valley High School Stadium.CVHS is a brand-new turf facility with a surrounding track and seats 4,000 spectators.The field at CSU-East Bay is also surrounded by a track, but is a natural grass playing surface.Catch a glimpse of Pioneer Stadium with this virtual tour: http://www20.csueastbay.edu/ua/virtual-tour/index.htmlFC Gold Pride General Manager Ilisa Kessler said this in a statement issued to FC Gold Pride season ticket holders on Tuesday:"Moving to Pioneer Stadium, allows us to meet your needs, some of which I want to highlight: geographic ally we will be in the "Heart of the Bay" which is more central to everyone , we now have the ability to play Saturday evening games, and the flexibility to invest in our fan experience - ample parking, the opportunity for tai lgating, and being able to enjoy a beer in the stands while yelling GO Pride!
