Australia and the U.S. played last month in the group stage of the World Cup, with the U.S. prevailing, 3-1. Australia was the United States’ opponent the last time the Americans played at Legion Field, a 5-4 victory in 2008. Australia has never beaten the United States, going 0-23-2 all-time.

The United States’ victory tour begins in Pittsburgh on August 16 aginst Costa Rica. Over 37,000 tickets have been sold for that match at Heinz Field. The August 19 match, also against Costa Rica.

The U.S. has played three times at Legion Field and twice at Ford Field, winning all five games.

The other six matchups and venues are yet to be announced. A report on Monday about a November game at Yankee Stadium between the U.S. and England, is false, a U.S. Soccer source tells The Equalizer.
