  • Fckc

Does fckc really play boston two times in a row at home or is that a typo? April 26 and may 18?

    • http://twitter.com/JeffKassouf Jeff Kassouf

This was taken straight from the league website.

  • Fckc

April 20 and may 18 sorry

  • Steglitz49

Maybe a simpler table layout would be easier to follow? The tradition in soccer is simple. X-Y = team X is at home to team Y.

The stadia are irrelevant because they rarely change. it is simply clutter of redundant information.

    • randomhookup

American sports standard is generally reversed from that (much like how we do our numeric dates). Location is useful to 1) familiarize people with the home field and 2) some of the locations will change (CRS usually uses 2 fields each summer). In the age of Google, always include enough information so that those who stumble upon it may find it useful.

      • Steglitz49

Your point is well taken. There is no need to change from the standard American convention.

The ladies would love for lots of people to turn up and watch. If a detailed table helps, so much the better.

This makes much more sense than the leaked one.

nur 5 monate frauenfussball, mehr bekommt die nwsl und ussoccer nicht zustande.
    das ist lächerlich.

    • Steglitz49

Please be constructive. Many states of the USA are a lot larger than Germany, so travel is a hurdle. The weather makes it difficult to play a game like soccer for much of the year. The league does not have much money.

The NWSL is starting small — a few of the top European ladies’ leagues only have 8 teams. I think Denmark is reducing from 12 to 10. Sweden has discussed doing that. The FAWSL has been 8 teams since it started — first now are they planning to increase the number to 12. The distances in Sweden have resulted in teams playing their home matches away!

Of course, ultimately the NWSL should be 8 regional leagues of 12 teams. It will take a couple of years to get there. Once the NWSL does, USA, Mexico and Canada will dominate ladies soccer totally.

        • Steglitz49

Which 6 teams will be the extra? Will it be 4 each from the D2 North and South (I assume that the 2 in the bottom will be relegated)? Is this pressure from that multi-millionaire who bought Hoffenheim?

Which teams do you think will be added?

  • StarCityFan

It’s not spelled out, but there are effectively two divisions: the east coast teams play each other four times and the central and west coast teams two or three times, and vice-versa for the central/west teams.

  • Derek

Portland playing every game at JELD-WEN Field…must expect at least 10,000 per game.

    • Steglitz49

Let’s hope that Portland can pull in 10 000 per game. That would be marvelous. More power to their elbows!

Some of the teams in Europe and Japan play in large stadia but only use one main stand. It looks a bit odd in photos because the bit you see is totally empty. Thus, a 12 000 – 40 000 seater ground may have anywhere between 500-2000 in that stand.

Rochester has that problem. They close off the east side during most Flash games.

Of course the Flash, or rather Wambach has been able to make the stadium burst at the seams too.
